Seeing a city from above is one of the best ways to really take it all in. You get a sense of how massive it is, how everything connects, and just how much is happening at once. There’s something about looking down at the streets, the buildings, and the people going about their day that makes you appreciate a place in a whole new way. And when it comes to Singapore—a city and a country all in one—seeing it from above is something you have to do.
Singapore’s skyline is insane. The futuristic buildings, the crazy architecture, the way everything is so perfectly designed—it’s unlike anywhere else. The city is packed with skyscrapers, green spaces, and waterways, and from above, you get to see it all come together. Whether it’s Marina Bay Sands, the towering financial district, or the endless ships in the harbor, the view from up high gives you a whole new perspective on this one-of-a-kind place.
But here’s the thing—Singapore is also one of the most expensive cities in the world. Many of the best viewpoints and rooftop bars charge ridiculous prices just for the chance to take in the view, which isn’t ideal if you’re traveling on a budget. Spending $30 or more just to go up a building? No thanks. I won’t justify a viewing platform that takes a chunk of my daily budget!
That’s why I’m sharing one of the best hidden gems in the city—a completely free viewing platform that gives you some of the most incredible views of Singapore, without draining your wallet. Seems like it’s too good to be true? Nope. It’s real, and it’s perfect!
CapitaSpring: The Best Free View in Singapore

CapitaSpring is a super sleek, modern high-rise near the famous Marina Bay area, and unlike most tall buildings in Singapore, this one actually lets you visit its viewing areas for free—if you plan ahead a bit.
All you need to do is book a time slot online a few weeks in advance, and you can go up completely free. But even if you don’t book ahead, you can still visit for just 10 Singapore dollars, which includes a free soft drink at the rooftop bar on the 51st floor. Honestly, even if you end up paying, it’s still one of the best and cheapest experiences in the city. The views, the atmosphere, and the overall experience make it 100% worth it whether you go for free or have to pay the small fee on arrival.
What’s Inside CapitaSpring?
From the moment you step inside, this place feels next-level. It’s sleek, modern, and has beautiful greenery woven throughout the entire building. But the best part? It’s not just a single observation deck—it’s an entire experience across multiple floors, each offering a unique experience.
Visitors can check out two main areas: Floors 17-20 and Floor 51.
Floors 17-20: A Hidden Green Oasis

These floors are basically an elevated green space in the middle of the city. It’s peaceful, quiet and comfortable. You’ll find:
• Amazing panoramic views from all of the different sides of the building
• A jungle gym (for kids or anyone feeling adventurous)
• A beautiful yoga deck with a view of the skyline
• Tons of seating areas where you can relax and take it all in
• Really cool walkways and staircases that make exploring feel fun
What makes these floors special is how well they blend nature with ultra modern design. The whole place feels peaceful, almost like a sky garden hidden in the middle of the city. You can just wander around, enjoy the spectacular views, and just chill before heading up to the best part—the rooftop.
Floor 51: The Best View in the City

Once you’ve explored the lower floors, take the elevator up to Floor 51, and get ready for some insane views Singapore.
From up here, you get a 360-degree view of Singapore. You can see the famous Marina Bay Sands, the entire downtown area, the dozens of ships out in the ocean, and even planes flying into the massive airport. It’s the best spot to really see just how massive and unique this city and country is.
But what makes Floor 51 really stand out is that it’s a huge rooftop garden. Instead of just a plain observation deck, the whole space is filled with plants, flowers, and even edible herbs. It’s crazy to be standing in the middle of this busy city but surrounded by so much greenery at the same time.
The Rooftop Bar: A Drink With a View
There’s also a lovely bar on the rooftop with both indoor and outdoor seating. Drinks and food are pricey, but if you paid for the 10 SGD ticket, you get a free soft drink—which is perfect if you just want to sit and enjoy the view.
I stayed up there for hours just watching the city below. The tiny cars, the boats, the planes—it was such a cool sight. And as the sun started setting, the view got even better. The city lights started turning on, and the whole skyline looked even more insane.
How to Visit CapitaSpring

If you’re in Singapore and want a crazy good view without spending too much, CapitaSpring is 100% worth it. Here’s what you need to know:
• Book ahead: Get a free time slot online a few weeks before your visit.
• Didn’t book? No problem! Just show up, scan the QR code at the entrance, and buy a 10 SGD ticket—which still makes it one of the cheapest viewpoints in the city.
• Opening hours: It closes at 9 PM, so you can go at sunset and stay until the city lights turn on.
• Best time to go: Sunset is the best! You get the view during daylight, and then you get to see the city light up at night.
CapitaSpring is honestly one of the coolest and most peaceful viewpoints I’ve ever been to. Even though it’s in the middle of a busy, high-energy city, it feels like a little escape—a rare pocket of calm above the chaos. From the moment I walked in, everything about the experience felt seamless. The modern design, the way nature is woven throughout the building, and the variety of spaces to explore made it so much more than just a place to take in the view.
Singapore is such a unique country, and seeing it from above really puts into perspective just how futuristic, well-planned, and vibrant it is. Whether you’re watching the sun set behind the skyline, seeing the boats and planes move in perfect synchronization, or just soaking in the atmosphere from one of the lush green terraces, there’s something incredibly special about this place. The staff was welcoming, the process was easy, and the entire visit felt like such a hidden gem in a city known for expensive attractions.
I can’t recommend this experience enough. If you’re in Singapore and want a breathtaking, budget-friendly way to see the city from above, this is the place to go.
